A Reasonable Request

The Nevada Appeal posted this article on the RIAA & their approach to the "problem" of file-sharing. She makes a good point. I have to wonder why it is ok to to tape a song off of the radio but it not ok to copy a digital file? Also, if I have already paid the artist by buying the cd, why should I have to pay them again to transfer format? The law needs to change. Ok, enough of my babbling.

A Kayaking World Record at Palouse Falls

Quick geography lesson : Palouse Falls is on the Palouse River . The Palouse River leads to the Snake River. which leads to the Columbia River and, ultimately, the Pacific Ocean. Quick Geology lesson : Eastern Washington sets on a gigantic ancient basalt lava fields created during the Pleistocene Epoch which occurred from 2.6 million to 11,700 years ago. The land was then shaped by the Great Missoula Flood. At the end of the last Ice Age, an ice sheet crept southward into the Idaho panhandle. It formed an ice dam that blocked the mouth of the Clark Fork River, creating a great lake called Missoula. It was 2,000 feet deep and contained more than 500 cubic miles of water-more water than Lake Erie and Lake Ontario combined! At some point the ice dam failed. The water exploded out at a rate 10 times the combined flow of all the rivers of the world. The incredible volume and force of the water and ice stripped away hundreds of feet of soil and cut deep canyons or "coulees". ...

Opera Browser

This blog was created using an Opera browser. After learning that Internet Explorer was to be avoided I thought I would try Firefox. I found it sluggish and even a little buggy. I then tried Opera and have been very happy with the experience. It has tabbed browsing which I find very handy.Also it has a grea feature that allows for resizing the page you are viewing to whatever size window you would like to view thru. This seems to be the pnly browser with fit-to width . When you throw in a built in RSS reader, Bit torrent capability, widgets and a very modifiable interface, well I'm very happy with it.
